Breathing is so important! It is life flowing through us.
This particular imagery is a combination of guided imagery and progressive relaxation. It is easy to do and very refreshing.
General Directions: Inhale from your abdomen. Hold the breath for a beat. As you exhale, experience yourself relaxing.
1. Take a nice naturally deep breath, breathing from you lower abdomen….hold the breath…as you exhale….relax your feet, ankles, toes, the arches of your feet.
2. Breathe from your abdomen….hold….as you exhale…relax your calves, knees, and thighs.
3. Breathe….hold….exhale….relax your pelvis, abdomen, stomach.
4. Breathe….hold….relax your chest.
5. Breathe….hold….relax your back, your spine, your lower back.
6. Breathe….hold….relax your shoulders, arms, hands and fingers….allowing the stress and negativity to drain from your fingertips.
7. Breathe….hold….relax your neck, facial muscles, your scalp.
8. Breathe….hold….relax your eyes, ears, nose, mouth…adding a gentle smile to your lips.
9. Breathe….hold….exhale and breathe fully and naturally from your abdomen.
10. Breathe naturally and fully from your abdomen.
11. Breathe….hold….imagine a laugh massaging your internal body.
12. Breathe….hold….imagine a laugh rolling through your body producing pure pleasure.
13. Breathe…hold…imagine that you hear yourself laughing in pure joy….your whole body feeling light and happy with the laughter.
14. Breathe….hold….laugh out loud!
