Living a “Real Life”

This December morning, I sat on the screened-in porch as I participated in my usual Sunday morning Twitter chat. #SpiritChat is an international community of people interested in spiritual growth and building a positive world community. Before the chat began, I put out food for the deer that come most days to eat. I took them Critter Food, which is a mix of cracked corn, seeds, and nuts. Female deer often share food with the tiny squirrels – the deer looming above them –eating in a nice friendly way. During the chat, I saw and then heard a blue jay…

Mother Nature and the Fight for Life

The dentist is an unusual place to have an awakening, but it worked for me!  I was sitting in the chair watching a video of waves crashing the shore and a light bulb went off in my mind. The ocean offers such beauty and peace and we’ve turned it into a disaster zone. It’s polluted and the military uses sonar that harms sea life.(Los Angles Times). Humanity has declared war on Mother Nature. The same war that is destroying the oceans is ruining the land, the atmosphere, and all life on this planet. You don’t think so? Think again. Tip…

The Miracle that Teaches

Once in a while, something happens that has no explanation. You see it, examine it, ask questions about it, and discuss it with friends and family. But, they don’t know the answer either. But, I do know a lesson is being taught through the miracle of the Morning Glories on my deck. My question? What in the world is keeping these Morning Glory vines green, budding, and blooming? My mind and soul are screaming – What?  WHAT? And HOW? Here is the short story behind my question? I live in a condo with my husband when not at home in…

Creation

You and I are a part of creation. We are a part of the profusion of life that populates and beautifies planet Earth. Mother Nature cares for all of us, making sure we have what we need to live and thrive within the ecosystem of our planet. She does this for all species – not just the human species. The animals, vegetables, fruits, trees, flowers and shrubs, amphibians, insects, crustaceans, and the smallest one cell creatures are a part of the life on this planet. We share the same space. We all are important and have an essential role to…

Turtles and New Beginnings

I love my new home. After two days of rain, there is only mist this morning and the trees and shrubs are sparkling with rain drops. The grass is almost an iridescent green. I have to go outside! I’ve waited for two long years to live in this little home by the marsh. I feel I live in a park but actually it is the land around my home. At one time it must have been glorious. As I discover some of its secret magic, all I want to do is trim the shrubs and restore the landscaping to its…
